Devil's Trap tsuke obi
Hand embroidered Devil’s Trap for a tsuke obi. I’m making it reversable, but I’ve run into a problem: The other side is white, so should I make an Angel Banishment sigil or the Anti-Possession sigil on it?
Dammit! After being so careful to get all the details correct I managed to embroider it upside down?! Is that even possible?!

Animecon X day 2
Today we visited the photo booth at Animecon X to get good pictures taken from our costumes. We also got our friend to come with us. She was supposed to be the Fourth Assassin, but I didn't get to do her costume in time (a hellish costume of lots of fabric and pearls), so she wore the Sakura costume from last year.
And yes, it's the costume you can hear from a mile away.

Animecon X Day 1 (Saturday)
For some incredible miracle, I managed to get the costumes ready for Animecon.
Ezio without his belts. This was a try out we had yesterday. We didn't take the sword with us to Animecon as the blade is metal and it's not allowed in conventions.
Finished Lucrezia. I was still sewing that tool belt yesterday and I wasn't sure if I could have made it, but I did. I'm not happy with the hood. It's a little too big and wrong color as I run out of light grey material and had to use a darker shade to make the hood.
Assassin's Creed II Ezio with his throwing knives (wooden).
I literary walked off the sole of my SHOE! These are NEW! ARGH! Now I have to find new shoes for tomorrow! I've worn these shoes only three times! T.T
Other than that I had a lovely time!

Quick note
All three assassin shirts are now finished and patterns for the top clothings have been drafted, shaped and cut. That's one Ezio and one Ezio in Brotherhood + finishings of the Lucrezia coming up next.

What's been going on with the assassins?
It's been a slow ride with those costumes, believe me, but things are happening.... I only have a week to finish.... Oh boy....
The undershirts have been nearly finished, I still need to attach the sleeves to the shirts and they're done.
Damn, those sleeves look long when they hang free like that, but when worn they look very full and beautiful.
And here are the (nearly) finished shirts for the boys. My fiancé tried his on today and Oh MY. Too bad my camera battery died before I could take a picture....
Will I finish on time? I hope to finish the boys costumes as they will hang me if I don't..... Bah, I'm so slow...

Hand-crocheted vest
It's been awfully dead in handcrafts, mostly thanks to finals and graduating.
As a quick evening craft, I crocheted myself a summery vest.
Thread is Novita PuroBatik, 100% acrylic.
I combined two different patterns for the vest.
The patterns are from Novita magazine, Summer 2012 issue.

There are things you should not do....
..... while you are sewing.
Today I discovered another thing I should not do while attempting to sew: Watch the Hollow Crown. So much for that sewing I promise you! I didn't get anything done, except staring the tv with my current project in my hands barely remembering it. I mostly blame this on Jeremy Irons and Tom Hiddleston, why must you two be so damn good?! Those two have voices that are liquid honey and you just have to stare at the screen. Whoever did the casting, YOU DID YOUR JOB MORE THAN WELL!
I never thought I'd be so tranced by watching Shakespeare. I like his plays, but to my shame I have never seen them on stage or screen. Now I have and I'm in love.
But I have to watch something else while sewing othervice I will never get these projects done!
Back to sewing. Lucrezia and the others awaits!
PS. If you haven't seen the Hollow Crown: Do it.
PPS. I finally got the material for the shirts. Things start to happen now.
Ok, random post over. Sorry about this.

Loki's obi is Finished!
Sorry about the messy dressing up, especially on the obiage. I don't have the correct colored obiage or obijime. And because somewhere along the process I lost 1cm of the widht of the obi for seam allowances (how the hell? I counted them so carefully?!), I'll be needing a mofuku obiita or the pink one I have might flash after being dressed and moving around.
While dressing Dolly into the kimono I realized just how hard the cross trying is to get in place. I mean mostly it's supported by the obijime and without it it probably would start to fall appart, so I need to be very carefull about tying and pull everything just a tad bit tighter than normal.
This time I also tied the obi lower on the body to give it that masculine feel. But I think I could tie it even lower on myself.
Messy, messy tying... Sorry about that.. I was in bit of a hurry.
The kimono looks a lot lighter in the images than it does in reality. It's a really vivid emerald green.
There are things in there that I could have done better, but hey! I now have a full (faux) leather tsuke obi! Just how epic/cool is that?

Finally, Loki kitsuke progress!
Yeehaw! Yesterday the leather arrived but it was too late in the evening when I got home that I decided not to sew. So I sewed today before going to work.
I'm making a tsuke obi as it uses less fabric. So today I cut all the pieces in 7cm wide strips.
So that's about 42cm (6x7cm) x 2m for the waisband. I felt strip madness coming around at one point. And I loved it!
Then I sewed the strips together one at a time. I kept changing the thread as it was easier to first attach them from the wrong side and then do another seam on the top. An as Loki's colors are black and emerald green (and gold/bronze), I used green thread for the showing seams just for the fun on it.
On the waistband the folds go on the same direction, but as in the taiko it's showing I made it go different directions from the centre. And why? Because Loki is a character that can go both ways, in the myths he's always walking on that thin edge and doing gigs for the gods and then being against them and switching back and forth. So I wanted this obi to be kinda like undecided on which way it should go.
Better picture of the folds. The fabric is not as shiny as it seems here.
Trying the waistband on with the cross styled tying. What I realized while tying this is that I have to tie the obi really low to make this work. I mean, how it look on the back is very wide to make the crossing look good.
Just showing more with the kimono. I might have to clean this one. I don't know where I have gotten a stain on one of the sleeves, I seriously don't! Luckily it does not show easilly, but I might have to take this kimono to dry cleaning... I'm not too fond of the idea of a silk kimono being washed by me and this kimono has some age on it's shoulders, so it might not like it.

Lucrezia progress... Is slow.
Here's what I've worked so far. The shirt fabrics will be arriving next week (God willing), so maybe I can finish this before it. On other news, progress has slowed even more, because this morning my overworked wrist decided to take a day off.
It's not that painful, but it's very stiff to move and hurts if I put pressure on it. Luckily I mostly do all my sewing on the right hand.
